Alan Hadden is an independent consultant with 30 years’ experience across 1G-5G technologies in the manufacturing, regulatory, operator and advisory sectors of the mobile industry.
As the founding President of GSA in 1998 - and one of Alan's best-known industry roles - his leadership over more than 16 years created a world-class association and global brand and a leading mobile industry voice. He developed, researched and wrote many of their key reports becoming standard industry references including, for example, the Evolution to LTE and Status of the LTE Ecosystem reports. Alan resigned the President role in 2015.
Alan was previously a member of the senior management team of the world’s first PCN/GSM1800 operator, representing the company in UK national bodies and internationally at several key industry bodies including ETSI, UMTS Forum and the GSM Association, where he also chaired their European operators and global PCN operators groups. He also wrote a successful book in the mid-1990’s on the practical aspects of PCN network deployments. Before that time he was the Industrial Advisor to the UK communications regulator on mobile policy.
