Henry Graichen completed his Abitur in 1995 at the "Am Breiten Teich" Gymnasium in Borna. He served in the German military, specializing in telecommunications, from 1996 to 1997. In 1999, he graduated with a Diplom in Public Administration (FH) from the University of Applied Sciences for Saxon Administration in Meißen. From 2001 to 2015, he served as the Mayor of the municipality of Neukieritzsch in the Leipzig district. Since August 1, 2015, he has been the District Administrator of the Leipzig District.Since 2022, he has been serving as the President of the Saxon County Association (Sächsischer Landkreistag) in Dresden. He holds leading positions in several important regional committees, such as the Regional Advisory Board of the Central German Mining District, the Leipzig Region Tourism Association, the Regional Planning Association of Western Saxony, and the Cultural Convention of the Leipzig Region, among others.
