Professor Dr. Christoph Thuemmler is an experienced medical professional and expert in e-health, currently serving as the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) at 6G Health GmbH in Leipzig and Lead Clinician for the Care of the Elderly at Erzgebirgsklinikum in Saxony. Since 2022, he has been actively involved in advancing healthcare through the integration of 6G technologies, while also leading initiatives to improve care for the elderly. In addition to his current roles, Dr. Thuemmler has a strong background in healthcare technology and research. He was the Project Lead for the 5G eHealthSax project at Helios Park Klinikum Leipzig (2019-2021) and has held academic positions, including Professor of E-Health at Edinburgh Napier University since 2010. He is also a Senior Member of IEEE and has held advisory positions with the European Commission on the Internet of Things (IoT) and in digital affairs with Leipzig City Council. Dr. Thuemmler's extensive career spans leadership roles in various healthcare settings, including positions as a Consultant Physician in Acute and Geriatric Medicine, as well as experience in emergency medicine and health management across Germany and the UK. He holds a PhD in Neurology from the University of Heidelberg and is highly regarded for his work in healthcare innovation, digital transformation, and the application of new technologies in medical practice.
